RE: Propane water heater won't work!

I know that with mine, if there's air in the propane line, the pilot will not light and the light will come back on, I have to either turn it off for a second and try again (maybe 3 or 4 times) or what I usually do is to light the stove to purge the lines of air and then turn on the water heater again, and that usually works the first time. Good Luck!

RE: Chassis battery issue

td1223, tell me how you would like your trailer to behave and I will give you some wiring hints on how to achieve it. Do you want your RV to charge your trailer battery off the chassis battery only when the RV is running or do you want it to charge from house batteries only when plugged in/generator running? How do you want it to work?

RE: Chassis battery issue

I had a similar problem when I first bought my RV. I replaced the chassis battery thinking it was the problem, only to find it was the step that was drawing from the battery. The step (at least on my rv) is wired to the chassis battery not the house batteries, If I leave my step on (so that the switch is lit up), it will discharge the battery. Before buying a battery, it might be worthwhile charging the battery, turning off the step and seeing if there's any difference.

RE: cruise control

This is controlled at the state level. In California, there is the automotive bureau of repairs and it is dictated that a repair station is not allowed to do a repair without prior authorization from the customer. Whenever you drop a vehicle off for repair, they are to provide you with a written estimate for the diagnosis which is generally waived if you choose to have the repair done. That form should have a dollar amount on it which they can't exceed without talking to you. I'd do a search on the internet for Bureau of Repair and the state to see if something similar exists where you had the repairs done. Good luck, I hope it works out.

RE: Wiring Up A Converter

I wired mine directly to the house battery cutoff, so that when I cutoff power to the house batteries, it includes the inverter. The trick is to place the inverter as close as possible to the batteries so that the DC run is as short as possible. You will experience current drop on the DC side much more than on the AC side. This means shorter 12 volt runs, longer 120 volt runs.

Recommended PSI on P30

I have a 1995 33' Southwind on a P30 chassis with AirBag suspension up front. I can find no reference to the max or recommended PSI. Can anyone help please?

RE: What is the proper way to drill into fiberglass

A trick that is common in boat repair that I've found to be equally effective on Motorhomes is to tape the area and run the drill backwards which will chamfer the edge of the fiberglass, then run it forwards. This makes a very clean hole with no chipping.
